Welcome to my Personal Page. Some personal information about me: Born in July 1965 in Germany and after moving to Hamm, Espelkamp, Bad Oeynhausen, Frankfurt, Miami FL and Cambrai I now live in a small village of 440 inhabitants in the north of France. While I loved to live in the city, the birth of our second child made us look for a place on the countryside and so we found our old farmhouse just 10 minutes out of Cambrai, about 90 minutes north of Paris and one hour south of Bruxelles. We live directly next to a crossing of two rivers and a channel and our next door neighbour is a horsebreeder. I share my life with my wife Katrin (married in 2000 after knowing each other for 18 years), our son Adrian (born in 1989), our daughter Leoni (2001) and the two dogs Karl, a German Shepherd of sorts and Willi, a Black Russian Terrier.
While I always liked mechanics and wrenching (well, and screwing...), I came to the Harley world rather late. I spend a lot of my time and money on old Mercedes Benz cars (I just didn't have the cash to be interested in new ones), and I own an old Peugeot 504 Coupé as my sunday-mobile. Unluckily I didn't really speed up the restoration, so it still needs some work until I can enjoy it fully. My wife really loves the classic shape and I do enjoy the simple mechanics of that 1960's jewel. It ws a better time for cardesign and Pinin Farina did a great job on that particular car.
When I am not knee deep in oil, I play golf and hold memberships in the Golf Club de Valenciennes, France and in The Belfry next to Birmingham, England. I also do some clay-shooting, a nice way to spend an afternoon and it helps to focus your concentration. Another favourite is playing the guitar. I play in a band named The Electric Church, and we are quite happy to be booked on a regular base. It'a all about the blues and details can be found on the Music Site here. www.the-electric-church.net
OK, lets get back to entertainment. I am a member / holder of the Ironbutt Europe, NOT a classic MC but rather a loose bunch of long distance riders from all over Europe. We require among other challenges 1000 km a day without motorways, 1000 mls a day without motorways and a X-town ride without putting your feet to the ground. That normally is the hardest part, because if you think 1000 miles is long (on backroads! NO motor- or highways), you probably aren't our kind of rider anyway. You can read more about that on my Ironbutt page. Just click on it.
